If an electric pallet truck is to be stored for more than two months, it must be kept in a dry, frost-free environment. Prior to storage, all necessary preparatory measures must be fully implemented; furthermore, the following procedures must be carried out both during and after the storage period.
During storage, it is advisable to elevate the vehicle - ensuring the wheels are completely lifted off the ground - in order to protect the wheels and their internal bearings. If the electric pallet truck is to be stored for more than six months, please consult the manufacturer's service department regarding any additional measures that may be required. Complete the following operations before placing the unit in storage:
◆ Thoroughly clean the pallet truck.
◆ Verify that the braking system is functioning correctly.
◆ Check the hydraulic fluid level and top it up if necessary.
◆ Apply a protective coating of oil or grease to all components.
◆ Lubricate the pallet truck with grease in accordance with the detailed lubrication chart.
◆ Recharge the battery.
◆ Disconnect and clean the battery; apply terminal grease to the battery terminals.
In addition to the above, all requirements specified in the instructions provided by the battery manufacturer must be strictly observed.
Measures to be taken during storage: Recharge the battery every two months.
Electric Pallet Truck Battery Management: It is critically important to recharge the battery regularly; failure to do so - resulting in a complete discharge - can lead to irreversible self-discharge and subsequent damage to the battery.
