Many users may have never operated an electric pallet truck prior to purchasing one. Consequently, during the initial period of use, they are prone to causing premature damage to the equipment due to improper operation. Here, we will provide guidance on how to correctly use an electric pallet truck.
First: Before Initial Operation
1. When users first receive a brand-new pallet truck, the vehicle must be driven solely by the power supplied by its battery.
2. After the pallet truck has been transported or relocated, the following inspections must be performed before putting the vehicle into service:
① Check that the equipment is intact and in normal working condition.
② Check that the hydraulic system is functioning properly.
③ If the battery has not yet been installed in the truck, exercise caution to avoid damaging the battery cables when installing it.
④ Charge the battery before use.
⑤ If the pallet truck has been parked for an extended period, the contact surfaces of the wheels may appear slightly flattened. Do not be alarmed; typically, these flattened areas will automatically recover after the truck has been driven for a short distance.
Second: How to Operate During the Break-in Period
During the initial phase of operation, the pallet truck should be run under low-load conditions. This applies particularly to the first 100 hours of use, during which the following requirements must be strictly observed:
① Prevent the new battery from undergoing excessive discharge during its initial usage phase. Generally, the battery should be recharged promptly once its charge level drops to 20%.
② Ensure that all prescribed preventive maintenance and servicing procedures are carried out thoroughly.
③ Avoid sudden braking, rapid acceleration, or sharp turns.
④ Perform oil changes and lubrication according to the prescribed schedule.
⑤ Limit the load weight to between 70% and 80% of the truck's rated load capacity.
