Troubleshooting Guide for Electric Stackers

During the operation of a fully electric stacker, encountering malfunctions is inevitable. When a malfunction occurs, it is crucial to promptly analyze the root cause rather than attempting blind repairs, in order to avoid creating unnecessary complications.


1. Stacker drive wheel speed drops significantly, or the drive motor experiences severe overload

● Causes: Battery voltage is too low, or contact resistance at the battery terminals is excessive; carbon buildup between the motor commutator segments causes an inter-segment short circuit; the motor brake is improperly adjusted, causing the motor to operate against the brake; the drive unit gearbox and bearings lack lubrication, or the base assembly is jammed; a short circuit exists within the motor armature.

● Solutions: Check the battery terminal voltage under load, or clean the battery terminals; clean the commutator; adjust the brake clearance; inspect, clean, and refill the lubrication oil, and clear any jamming issues; replace the motor.


2. Stacker lifting power is weak, or the unit fails to lift

● Causes: Excessive wear between the gear pump and the pump housing; the relief valve within the directional control valve is improperly set (high-pressure setting is incorrect); oil leakage in the hydraulic lines; excessive temperature of the hydraulic oil; jamming or binding within the mast carriage assembly; the oil pump motor speed is too low.

● Solutions: Replace the worn components or the gear pump; readjust the valve settings; inspect and repair the hydraulic lines; replace substandard hydraulic oil and investigate the cause of the temperature rise; inspect and adjust the mast carriage; inspect the motor and resolve any faults.


3. Stacker mast tilting is difficult, or the movement is not smooth

● Causes: Excessive wear between the tilt cylinder wall and the sealing rings; failure of the valve stem spring within the directional control valve; the piston is jammed against the cylinder wall, or the piston rod is bent; excessive scale buildup inside the tilt cylinder, or the seals are compressed too tightly.

● Solutions: Replace the O-rings or the tilt cylinder; replace the spring with a standard-compliant one; replace the damaged components; clean and adjust the assembly.


4. Oil pump pressure is insufficient, or the flow rate is too slow

● Causes: The sealing ring within the pump cover groove is damaged, resulting in excessive internal leakage; wear on the pump gears; the oil pump motor speed has decreased; foreign objects are clogging the hydraulic lines.

● Solutions: Replace the sealing ring; replace the oil pump; inspect the motor commutator, remove carbon buildup between the segments, and adjust the position of the carbon brushes; inspect and clean the hydraulic lines.

 

5. Electrical Components Malfunctioning

● Causes: The microswitch within the electrical box is damaged or improperly adjusted; the main circuit fuse or control circuit fuse has blown; the battery voltage is too low; the contactor contacts are burnt or fouled, resulting in poor electrical contact; or the contacts fail to actuate.

● Solutions: Replace the microswitch and readjust its position; replace the fuse with one of the same specifications; recharge the battery; repair the contacts, or adjust/replace the contactor; check the contactor coil for open circuits, or replace the contactor.
