Regular inspection and maintenance are crucial for ensuring smooth workflow when operating an electric forklift. Prior to use, verifying the forklift's parameters and configurations helps guarantee both operational safety and efficiency. During the initial break-in period of a new forklift, the machined surfaces of components have not yet been fully smoothed out; consequently, slight deviations may still exist between the machined shapes and their assembly positions. Furthermore, fitting clearances and lubrication conditions may not yet be fully optimized, resulting in slightly increased wear and - comparatively speaking - slightly higher operating temperatures. Ideally, an electronic diagnostic computer should be used to perform these checks; if such equipment is unavailable, consult the manufacturer or service provider for guidance.
Inspect all pipelines and connections on the electric forklift for any signs of damage, looseness, water leaks, or oil leaks. Pay particular attention to the hydraulic system, as well as the master cylinder and wheel cylinders of the service brakes, to ensure there are no signs of fluid seepage.
Check the lubrication status of the electric forklift itself, as well as its engine or DC motor. Refer to the forklift's lubrication chart to ensure that all designated lubrication points are properly serviced, and top up the engine oil, gear oil, and grease to the appropriate levels.
Verify the tightness of all mechanical fasteners and connections on the electric forklift. Specifically, check that the connecting bolts and locking mechanisms for the steering system, wheels and tires, and lifting mechanism are secure and correctly installed.
Inspect all electrical components - including connectors, wiring, and lighting systems - to ensure they are intact and properly connected. Verify that the electrical instruments, horn, and lights are functioning normally. Additionally, check the electrolyte level in the battery to ensure it meets the specified requirements, and verify that the specific gravity of the electrolyte falls within the acceptable range.
